Most weddings stay with me long after I deliver your gallery…
And Bria and Dan’s Airbnb wedding was no different!
Because it was built around the experience, intention, and the kind of magic that unfolds over time.
When they told me they wanted an adventure elopement that included hiking, intimate moments with their people, and endless space to actually feel the weekend, I was all-in.

Bria and Dan chose an Airbnb wedding because they wanted their people to celebrate their love story with them, rather than just attending a service.
Instead of a traditional venue, they rented out an entire spa-style Airbnb in Shandaken, New York, to turn it into a shared home for their special weekend.
They were able to enjoy slow mornings, long meals, and deep connections with under 30 of their closest friends and family.
It may have been their love story, but they created an intimate experience for everyone…
And that just can’t be replicated in a standard venue.

One of my favorite parts of documenting adventure elopements is how intentional every detail feels.
And that is the exact mindset that shaped this entire elopement experience from start to finish!
Bria arrived at the Airbnb with three thrifted dresses and a collection of jewelry and accessories that had been passed down from people who love her (because every detail mattered).
The couple, friends, and family shared meals, breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with no rush to be anywhere else.
And once the sun began to set, we all headed out to the nearby river for their first ceremony together.
Dan and Bria shared their vows by the water, with their favorite people as witnesses!
Then, we made it back inside the Airbnb for a fun living room dance party, mom-made pies for dessert, and a surprise mother-daughter dance to Mamma Mia!

Around 3 or 4 a.m., we laced up our boots and hiked in the dark as we made our way toward Artist Rock in Catskill Park.
(I find something so incredibly grounding about moving through the woods before the world wakes up.)
Once we made it to the top, Bria and Dan stood together at Artist Rock to exchange their private vows during sunrise.
It was quiet, emotional, personal…
And they followed their vows with a simple knot-tying ceremony!
(This is one of the reasons I love being an elopement wedding photographer: these moments feel real, not rushed. And they make the world stop, even just for a few moments.)
After sunrise, we made our way to Kaaterskill Falls for another intimate moment they’ll keep stamped on their hearts forever.
It was cold (the kind of cold that wakes you up), but the energy was calm and reverent. It was a great contrast to the warmth of day one!

This is just a peek at what your weekend elopement could look like when we work together!
